Why?
Every time I go to my dealer I see mostly 40/50+ folks looking around. Lexus needs to stick what it does best............make entry to full blown luxury cars for the masses.
BMW is a niche company who's only claim to fame is making 'fun' to drive cars. Even they have pretty much lost the 2002ti crowd. Just look at a four year old 7 series and compare it with the 7 series 'tank' they make today.
Back in the mid-seventies I toured the BMW factory in Munich (twice, in fact) and I remember two things more than anything else. The first was Germans do not built BMWs..........folks from Turkey, Iran, Iraq, et al do. Secondly, the guide saying BMW is not like that other German company near Stuttgart (Mercedes) who make 'tanks'.......well, sorry ol' boy (he was English) All BMWs are tanks today.........compared to their past products.
If I were Lexus brass I would keep a token IS350 type around but focus on building more luxury into their line and getting back that J D Powers 'top' dog rating again.

I'll believe it when I've seen it because this coupe stuff has been floating around since before this current generation was released and it still hasn't happened. If Toyota actually brings back the Supra, as has been rumored then I'll start to believe that a Lex coupe may be in the offing. But so many alleged "release dates" have come and gone I'm a in "show me" mode.

Again, I agree. The dimensions and feeling of the IS is like a coupe, a 4 door coupe. Besides, the angles of the IS looks better than most coupes on the market now.
I'm not hoping, rather, I have indifference. For once, I am very pleased with a, (cough) sedan. The IS does not look like the run of the mill sedan. As such, even if it came as a coupe, I'll keep the sedan. When I go back to only 2 doors, it will be a sports car of sorts or the next generation SC.

I think the only flaw with this car is that if feels numb when you drive it. It doesn't handle as well as any of the German cars. The other gripe I have is that they are rattle prone. If they make the car handle better and make it more solid, they have a winner.
