Some people in the RX forum were saying that it would be better to "opt out" but I have a bad sludge problem so I was thinking it wouldnt be so bad to get it taken care of if Lexus is going to pay for it...
I notice a lot of oil sludge on the front of the engine and when I'm at a stop light with the "outside air" button pushed, I get a burning smell.
My '97 ES300 has 165k on it.......
Basically this post is just to see how many of you got the letter and got something done at the Dealership with it?
so if we dont reply to the oil settlement in anyway we are covered for like 8 yrs right? does anyone get this settlement, like how long are we covered under warrenty..does anyone understand this settlement
8 years & 180 days from the initial date of purchase.
YOU MUST provide proof of attempting routine maintenance on the engine, and unless there is CURRENT internal engine DAMAGE. You get nothing more than a boot out the door.
It isn't a settlement like Toyota got sued off their ***. They've never been liable for anything. It's nothing more than the original extended warranty changed from 8 years, or 100,000 miles (whicher comes first) to 8 years & 180 days.
