I have IS250 2012 and another IS350 2006, based on the manual, the IS250 2012 has a 10,000 miles oil change interval with 0w-20 synthetic oil while the IS350 2006 has a 5,000 miles oil change interval with 5w-30 regular Toyota oil. This seems to suggest that synthetic oil last twice as longer than regular Toyota oil.

I recently switched from regular Toyota oil to Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30 oil on the IS350, do I change it at the 10,000 miles now?

Also, I autocross/track (legal off road racing) both cars few times a year, will this affect the oil change interval and if so what will it be (5,000 miles?)?

Hello FSportIS, although you have switched the oil on your 2006 350 to synthetic you will continue to change the oil at 5,000 miles.
Also, racing the vehicle or driving it under extreme conditions requires that you change the oil every 5,000 miles if necessary regardless of time interval for synthetic. However, if you require a more detailed explanation please contact your dealer technician at any local Lexus dealer.

Thank you for your advice. I will then change oil at 5,000 miles interval for both cars then.

One additional question. Can I use the same oil such as 0w-20 or 5w-30 on both cars? Or what oil type do you recommend for the IS250 2012 and IS350 2006 and why different oil?
