My 2003 LS430 has the lexus parking assist main on and off button, and I can adjust the settings for the beeps, set distance and choose to have the display on or off but nothing happens when i am in range of objects when trying to park. The screen does not change to the park assist screen, nor do i hear beeps of any kind. I push the park assist button off and on and nothing happens. At start up the park assist screen doesn't even show up for the 2 seconds it says its supposed to.

Anyone know what the problem might be. Is there anothe setting that I am overlooking or is there something wrong with the system as a whole? I just bought this car about 2 weeks ago. It runs great just the park assist seems to be not working or non existing. Everything points to me having the system tho.

Sallensr, based on your explanation it sounds like you have the parking assist function. I would recommend you have your vehicle inspected to determine why it does not show on the screen. Sorry we could not assist more but there are to many variables to diagnose through this forum. We hope this helps.

Look to see if you have the sensors in the bumpers. My 2006 GS300 had the on/off button but did not come with the option so the button was useless. You may have the same scenario.
