classic ipod with with 2018 NX 300H

So I finally figured out which cable to use to make my classic ipod play through the sound system.... only to discover that after about 15 minutes of playing time the ipod crashes and has to be restarted. I have two classic ipods FILLED with great music and it happens with both of them. Is my new car too "smart" for these devices which in my opinion represent Apples best music devices invented (as far as capacity and quality of sound)?

The Lexus USB interface for thumb drives is limited to 9,999 files. I don't know if there's a limit on # of songs on iDevices. How many files on your iPods? My iPhone 6 has 6,532 songs and works fine.

Each ipod has 145 GB - about 5,250 songs each. But it is a classic ipod - no bluetooth capability.

Yeah that's well within the Lexus limit. I'm playing via USB in iPod mode as well.

I have the same issue. I have a 2019 RX 350 - Worked great for 1.75 years and in the past 6 months began this 20 min crash; like the ipod battery has died; but it was fully charged 20 mins. ago. I have 4 iPod's, I also play them on my boat all day and the iPod battery never runs out or crashes. But only in the past 6 months has this occurred in my Lexus. Has anyone found a cure?
