This is a shot of all of the stock connectors behind the radio on a 1GS with the Pioneer system. Note that the blue connector has been removed, and most of the wires and pins are exposed.

This is a shot of the modified RCA connectors with new grounds wired up. Pardon the wire colors.. you use what you've got, and I salvaged these from another 70-8112 connector. In this pic the RED/BLUE/YELLOW/BLACK wires are all ground wires.

UPDATE: This harness I made is not the best way to go about this. Made in this manner, you might end up with alternator noise. It was later suggested to use the common ground on the harness, and ground to the metal tube behind the stereo. You can also ground the aftermarket deck there. Then, all you have to do is find the ground on the AMP itself, and ground it to a nice metal surface near its location.

This is a shot of the 70-8112 connector being reassembled with the new ground wires. You have to double check and triple check the PIN assignments, as you really only want to do this once. Assemble the connector while you are in the car so you can double check your work.
I will edit this post, and list out the PIN assignments.

UPDATE: Don't use the ground pins here, see above!

This is the finished connector. Yah, if I do this again, I will make the wire lengths equal. Out of sight, out of mind - it won't bother me when it's behind the new aftermarket deck.

UPDATE:
Should have kept the common ground, this is not the way to go about this

You will hook up the RCA connectors on 70-8112 to the aftermarket deck PREAMP outs. You must have two.
Grey - Right Front
White - Left Front
Purple - Right Rear
Green - Left Rear
Then you will hook up the const and acc power, the ground, and the amp turn on wire which you extracted from the blue connector. Finally, attach the antenna wire coming out of the deck to the BLACK/WHITE wire to get the power antenna to work.
Finally, hook up the antenna. You can tape up the mini-diversity plug. You don't need it for an aftermarket deck.
I was so surprised to see this work well on the first pass - I usually don't have that amount of luck. Stock speakers sound great when driven by an aftermarket deck. Even my 5 year old Kenwood Z919 sounds absolutely fabulous.

1GS RR door panel
1GS RR door panel shot - How the heck are you guys getting 6.5" speakers in here? Heck, even the 5.25 coaxials I test fitted were like an inch too big. I'm OK with a bit of dremel work on the stock enclosure, but clearly the biggest speaker you are going to get in here without much modification is a 4" or possibly a 5". Also, realize you don't have a ton of depth in the stock enclosures. Boston Acoustic speakers have huge magnets and at least the 5-1/4's wont fit front or rear.

1GS RF speaker (2ohms) component
Note the Green and Brown wires. I don't get why it's wired like this, someone please explain it to me. Where are these components crossed over? In the AMP?
