Guys,

Looking into options for a head unit in my SC300. Personally, I HATE CD-Changers. My mood swings so much that I may not always want to hear any of the 12-discs in the changer and I don't want to have to pull over to change music. I'm aware that the factory space is 2.5 din's and an odd shape also. I don't like the thought of putting a single din in there and having a cheesy looking fabbed up dash kit. I'd like to have a LCD screen in the area, but can't seem to find many if any that are also head units, that aren't the fold out/up style. I don't like those b/c you will still have to fab up some crappy looking dash kit. Now I know the link below is only a double din, but that leaves less area you'll have to have some type of plastic "kit" that won't match the interior. Thoughts? Recommendations?

You could go with the pioneer AVM-p8000r or AVM-p9000r as your head unit.

It will need a screen, not necessarily pioneer, but it interfaces better with one. You can go with 6.5 or the 8 if it fits. Pioneer has also come out with a new 6.5" touch screen.

Since the factory space is 2.5 din, you may be able to squeeze a single din DVD player (sdv-p7) which will also play CDs.

I think that meets all the requirements you listed.

is that the old eclipse head unit? I seen one of those installed, not bad, but screens have gotten alot better since that model came out 5 yrs ago. What is that one or is it the same model?
