Default 2nd Gen RX350 - Need amp to drive JL 12W6v3

Hello,

I just purchased a 12 inch sub (JL Audio 12W6v3-D4 and a deep sealed box (Ground Shaker) and wanted to know what amp I should drive it with? Should I go with an 8 gauge wire? I wanted to stick with a JL Audio amp - your inputs would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Sub:
Impedance: 4 ohms
200- 600 watts RMS
Peak handling 1200 watts

everyone seems pretty boring here and doesn't seem to help anyone else out so ill
give you my input. what's your budget like? any of the jl audio xd series amps are very good along with their rd series. the alpine pdx amps are solid as well. but like i said it all depends on budget so let me know and i'll find you the best bang for your buck

Good looking out r2Digi, I want to pay no more than $850-$1000 for an amp but I don't think any 1K+ watt amp from JL would be be less than a thousand. Haven't looked into Alpine units but will check them out per your advise. Thanks!

Stick with 4 guage wire. Check out http://www.knukonceptz.com/ for any wiring you need, they have some of the best if not the best around. You can choose between copper clad aluminum(CCA) or tin plated copper OFC. For cars CCA wire is fine but in my personal cars i always use Oxygen free copper wire. Also, You have a DVC 4 woofer which means you can only run it in 8 or 2 ohm configurations. With that being said my personal picks(which are well with in your budget) is the RD500/1 http://www.jlaudio.com/rd500-1-car-a...plifiers-98618 and the xd600/1v2 http://www.jlaudio.com/xd600-1v2-car...plifiers-98604 . The xdv2 puts out 600rms which is the max of your woofer so youll need to be careful tuning the amp to make sure it doesnt start clipping. Either amp is a great choice and they can be had for about 275~350 ish on ebay. Good luck with your decision hope i gave you some insight

thats too much power for one jl12w6v3. Youre confusing RMS and PEAK power. Go by continuous(RMS) the rms on that subwoofer is 600. DO NOT EXCEED THIS

Ended up sticking to the JL XD600 amp and upgrading the head unit with an Alpine INE-W960HDMI (http://alpine-usa.com/product/view/ine-w960hdmi) and added a rear camera. Stuck with factory soeakers and will upgrade later. Thanks for all of your help!
