Hey guys,

Don't flame me for asking this question, but I do not know what it is..... Why would you need to use the ground wire? JMAI22 installed my hid's and said that explainig the "ground" would be difficult...thanks guys...

Grounding simply completes the circuit . The battery has the + (positive side) that goes to all electronics and a - (negative side) that goes to the engine block, body, etc to complete the circuit. Any electrical circuit needs to be completed when "turned on" just like the lights in your home. Adding the ground wire or connect completes the circuit. To avoid arching in the switch, Lexus/Toyota always places the switch for electrical components on the ground side of the curcuit.

The guys that said it would "be difficult" to explain grounding probably do not understand the properties of electricl curcuits, but, probably know how to hook up the wires only.

well ground, you can think of it as a common reference voltage of "0" if the battery of the car uses the body of the car as zero, then the body of your car is the common ground, and when you ground something, it's good to connect it to the metal sheet of the body
