Free Air Sub Question?
Hi Guys,
I'm planning to purchase 12" IDMAX sub and it is both work with enclosure or freeair, if I would of use as freeair would it fit? Since it has 8.25" depth I'm concern about the gas tank. I did a search but I couldn't find any SC owner that use them as freeair. I currently have a RF 12" enclosure and thought about getting 2 JL flush mount on floor but it costing around $1000.
Or is it better to get enclosure to get optimal output? (will get 4ohm and run parellel, 2ohm are on backorder.)
I'm planning to power it with JL 500/1 but is that enough? I might have to go with 1000/1 what do you think?

I gotta go to class so real quick:
It won't fit on the rear deck, WAY too deep.
the IDMAX will probably sound better in an enclosure. I've heard them freeair and they sound sloppy. I've heard one in a sealed enclosure and it sounded nice.
I think a 1000/1 would definately be the way to go.
