I just purchased a hardrive update for $325 for my 98LS. It will be here tommorrow.

How do you install this update?

Find the NAV computer in the right trunk corner under the carpet (in GS). Unbolt it (10mm) to get clear access. Open the trap door and pull the little handle on the drive to remove it. (there may be a screw to remove) It is a fat PMCIA module just like laptop modems.

Do you have to return the old drive for a credit? 3 upgrades are free under warranty with 98. Since you are out of warranty, if you have not had 3 upgrades you can still talk them into a free upgrade. I did.

Yes I will have to return the old one in exchange fhe new one. Unfortunately, I paid in advance.
I will try to talk them into refunding me.
