Default iVIC "Waiting for Source" Issue

I installed an iVIC in my 2007 GS430 with Nav and ML today. I followed the setup instructions to a tee. My stock system recognizes the iVIC, and I am able to toggle between the stock system and the iVIC. The problem is that the Vais system never proceeds past " Waiting for Source". The only thing I found online where this happened to someone else, they had to send the unit back. That was over a year ago, so would have hoped the same issue would not arrise.
I have a Samsung Note 2 and am using a Samsung hdmi adaptor. Also have the adaptor plugged into the usb power of the iVIC.
Anyone have any ideas what is wrong while I wait for customer service on Monday?

you know I haven't played with any of these yet but based on what you said it's your phone!
I would try to setup your phone to a HDMI port on a TV and see what happens?
also come to think of it try changing your video settings although it should automatically sync sometimes manually doing works aswell.

Really stupid mistake...I was not using the 5 to 11 pin adaptor with the MHL adaptor. Works now! Sound quality is amazing through this thing!
