Help with CD's
 
Does anyone play and use re-recorded CD's. Like the ones you burn off your computer. The owners manual says no and I have a friend thats a service manager at a Chevy dealership, he said that GM sent a notice out saying it would harm the CD player if they were used. Please let me know if you know.......Best Regards........Bob

The only thing I would look out for is using those labels that you print on your home printer (like CD Stomper), sticking them on a disc, and then inserting it into a slot-feed changer on one of the newer models (the kind where you load up the discs one at a time). There have been some stories on CL where a homemade label has jammed the changer on somebody's brand new SC430.
So, if you have a slot-feed player, I'd skip the neat labels, and just mark them with a felt-tip marker (that's what I do, and my '96 ES has an old style cartridge feed changer in the trunk).
There's no way the CD-R can "harm" the laser. Some audio CD players do have trouble with reading CD-RW media, however.

No matter what...as a general rule of thumb, I would never use one of those adhesive lables...
