NAV and stereo settings
I have a 98 GS4 with the sept 01 nav software. In my NAV settings the coefficient of distance is set at 1.017. I am wondering what is this setting and what is it set to in other CL members cars.
Also under the Audio settings what will happen if I change the p1, p2 ans L settings that you get by pressing the FM button and the F,R and W buttons after you press the Tape button.
To get to the NAV diagnostics turn the key to ON then hold the climate and audio buttons down while turning the park lights on and off about 3 times.
I searched the forums but have not found exactly what I am looking for. Thanks in advance for any help!

Not sure about P1, P2 and L, but I believe that increasing the numbers in F, R and W will drop by that dB amount...???
I have my F turned up to 6, and my R turned up to 8, which I believe is dropping my Front speakers by 6dB and my rear speakers by 8dB. I did this because it makes the sub presence stronger...I think...

My distance coefficient is 1.000 today. I have tried to reset it manually when I thought the junctions came up a little late compared to the map. The auto set mode overrides the manual setting so I quickly lost my manual setting. I have seen other numbers before all very close to 1.000 and I’m sure the difference is related to tire wear. My tires are about 40% used.
I tried the audio setting mode you mentioned. It sounds like an adjustable notch filter, perhaps for cabin resonance. L is the depth in dB and P1 and P2 are frequency settings. Perhaps the center frequency and width or two edge points? Since it takes about 1 minute to make adjustment before listening to the audio, I have been unable to audibly guess what is happening. I don’t have any frequency response measuring gear handy. P1 goes from 000 to 286 and P2 goes from 000 to 176. The DSP’s used are PD2055A from an unknown supplier. Find that might give a clue.
The poor Japanese translation in the Pioneer manual says that these setting were designed to allow dealers to make adjustments for customers. Lexus has demonstrated to me is that they like to keep as much information as possible secret from customers and dealers including known problems and draft TSB’s so don’t expect any information from there. There are other diagnostics modes buried too like adjusting the CD player mechanics and optics.
