Gs430 came with headrest tv's n DVD problems - HELP
 

Hey all,

I got my 04 GS430 a little over a year ago, and it love it still but I ran into a problem all of the sudden and my headrest tv's and DVD setup that played through a toggle switched FM modulator stopped working and does not play the audio. The video still works and the wireless headphones work but the switched FM modualtor stopped.... From want I can tell the wires are still connected and there isn't anything unplugged just stopped working. When I turn to the respective station and flip the switch I just get static, any ideas? Could the FM modualtor just got bad all the sudden? It worked one day n the next nothing but static...

I don't even know exactly where everything is in the car I found several wires but nothing with a FM antenna input/output.. I do have a box with red,yellow, and blk wires but the blk is taped off and not used and the yellow with inline fuse isn't poped either. What should i be checking or looking for?

yea... your going to need to take that to a specialty shop :-) No way to know what equipment is used, how it was hooked up, or what to tell you to fix. Hopefully you know who put the system in (and they have some kind of records). I'd bet you're looking at 2hrs to diagnose and troubleshoot the issue - assuming its not a fuse issue (sounds like it isnt since you ckecked that). Its also likely a component failed given your description - a lot of these av systems have a lot of integration boxes - or integration points that can go bad (again hard to assume since you dont know everything in the system). Save a lot of time and take it to a reputable shop. If you do want to try and troubleshoot yourself go over to http://diymobileaudio.com/ as you'll probably get better help there since its an AV issue rather than a lexus issue.
