That's what I was told when I got my radio installed. How do you bypass the amp?

Seems like the mats are shielding the electrical interference from the amps somehow.

I remember seeing the thread a long time ago. I'll search for it when I get home. I'm going to get an aftermarket amp and speakers later on.

If you bypass the amp, you are likely to loose sound quality if you stick with the stock speakers. I think the oem speakers are 1 or 2ohm speakers. I'm not 100% sure, but it's worth looking into it before bypassing the amp, unless you plan to due a full system.

If that's the case, I'll keep my turbo sound that comes from my radio. I'd hate to lose sound quality.

Simple ground loop isolaters will take care of that noise for you. I don't know why the SC is prone to engine noise. My GS and IS did not have these issues when the HU was upgraded, but so far every one of my SC's has had engine noise.

I never could figure out why the SC was like that either since I've never seen a Supra or another Lexus have this issue. Where can I get some ground loop isolators and how do they work?

Most electronic stores carry them, but the cheapest place I've seen them in is ebay. It's a filter that goes between the HU's RCA's and the RCA's from the car's harness (plug). Pretty simple!

Its the 4 channel ground loop isolator in which you need.

Yes, a 4 channel would be ideal to cover front and rear speakers all in one. However, there are not too many brands that make 4 channel ground loop isolaters.
