Does anyone know why JL Audio hasn't made a stealthbox for the GS 300/400 yet? Do they think that there isn't a market for it? Is there one in the works? They have made one for the Audi A4 and the BMW 3Series, but no Lexus. They would probably make one for the IS first, but as the "occupation" topic displayed, there are many young GS owners, including myself!

 

Last time I spoke with the local JL rep, he said that it wasn't cost-efficient for them to offer stealthboxes for the GS series as Lexus only produced 5000 or so per year & that most people they surveyed were more interested in a more quality installation than a StealthBox or Bazooka tube. Not sure where he got his production numbers but do recall seeing similar figures in a Motor Trend.

 

The latest GS sales figures I saw quoted were in the Edmunds.com article -- I believe it was 36,000 GSs a year, 6000 of which were GS4s.

I suspect the rep's comment is more a reflection of his marketing department's belief that the majority of GS owners show no interest in aftermarket audio equipment.

And they're probably right. The majority of GS owners probably never think about mods for their cars and don't consider audio options beyond the Nak, now ML premium system.

Plus, at least all the newer GS's come with a sub stock. The Nak system with the 10" woofer sounded pretty good to me. In comparison to the crap that comes in a BMW the audio system in Lexi are pretty good. Plus, if you really want a stealth-type box you can also pay a little more for a shop to build one.
