I just put in a new VAIS VML MultiMediaLinq in my 2008 RX350. I works fine with my iPhone 3G, but with a USB drive? Not so much.

I just can't seem to figure out how to create the playlists it needs to be able to search by Artist and Album. I've used the $20 software VAIS recommends to make playlists but what a pain in the butt. I have 2600 albums in my iTunes and I bought this thinking it would be great to have on a HDD in the vehicle. Wrong! It appears you need to make a playlist for every artist AND album. That's 5200 playlists! And if you change, update or delete anything it will need to be re-done.

So... this is not a rant. It's just me trying to understand how others are managing this. Surely no one is doing it this and there must be a better way!

Any ideas or help would be appreciated!
