Must be a head unit thing, my aftermarket head unit came with different screw sizes and lengths

Raine I had a question, I've got a 91 Lexus sc400 with the emv touchscreen that also, controls the a.c my question is, if i take that out, will I somehow be able to control the ac again? All Ill have after taking out the factory tv is the ability to change the temperature but not know to how many degrees.

I'd say no, since all of your HVAC controls (except "Auto" and the temperature) are through the EMV and the surrounding buttons

Ugh that's terrible news.....lol ill have to stick to the super retro looking outdated touch screen......hahaha. bleh I guess that's fine, as long as it works, its just not as responsive nor quick as today's touch screens. Anyway thanks alot man.

Does the Metra fascia piece match the DD head units outline (Kenwood dnx570hd) or do I still need the additional Kenwood 'frame' piece? It looks as if that is for a metal sheath install, I dont need the kenwood frame as I didnt get it anyway. Going into a 93 SC400 thats on its second OEM radio, I think my rear speakers are trash too. Is there a way to test the speakers by looking at their OHM's on a meter?

Just completed a 6 hour kenwood nav install. What a chore! Did a sub delete as it's blown anyway. Trying to get it done, I just used the Metra bracket alone and found the entire housing shimmies left and right as the car moves. The metal bracket not only holds the radio/climate control in place but secures the entire center console base to the dash. You MUST use the original bracket in some manner, great write up!
