Default adjusting levels on amp

I just scored some used stereo equipment including a phoenix gold amp and two 12" alpine subs. I plan on installing atleast these two in my 98 gs4 for additional bass to my factory sound system. After doing some searching I'm pretty confident on doing the install but my question is regarding the levels on my amp. This is what I see:

Bass: 0 to 15
Sens: 4 to .4
Xover Freq.: 30 to 300
Config: BY, LP, BY

Im sure I set the config at LP and I do plan using a low level line converter from the factory sub wires into the amp. How would I dial the levels?

The Xover frequency is your crossover point. This is the frequency you want your rolloff to begin at. I would suggest between 80-120 hZ. Play with it and see where your best response is.

Sens. is the input sensitivity or "gain". This adjusts the increase in output voltage based on the input signal. I like to tune this by playing a CD at half volume of the system, turning the gain up until audible distortion is heard and then backing the gain down about an 1/8th.

Bass: is your bass boost which is variable from 0 to +15 dB. This will add up to a +15 dB gain at certain frequencies. Try to use this sparingly. There are audiophiles that believe the "bass boost" feature on amps causes subwoofer failure.
