Default Alarm system question

'09 IS 250

If I lock the car with the trunk still open, there's no alarm, buzzer, or any other warning that the trunk is open. I presume this is normal behavior, but it's kinda disconcerting.

And the question is...??

It is normal behavior. Probably because the enginerds at Lexus figured you'd have your hands full of groceries or whatever, and not want to screw around with the keys at that point. I'm sure that there is a timeframe in which the factory security starts keeping track of the trunk for intrusions. If you're worried about it, just give a quick tug on the trunk before leaving. Can't imagine you could open it accidentally, but that's your call.
