I've been having that same problem.I have a 97 ES300 with the Cd button and I want to add a changer. I opened the dash behind the glove box and there is a wire behind there taped up for a cd changer.So i was told,but it has to be a factory changer.
Anybody have any ideas??? I odn't want a modulator so I think the only other alternative is to ripout the entire factory system.even though I don't want to.

I have a 97ES300 also and the stereo is complex as hell. You are probably better off taking the factory sys out. That wire behind the glove does go to the factory changer. The power to the radio and the CD is distributed by the amp which also is behind the glove box. it is the second box from the passenger side.

 

how much do you think it would cost/? roughly? I want to
install a tv/dvd/cd unit slide out
