lost audio while watching dvd.
I lost all audio on road trip the other night. My wife had been watching "Good Will Hunting" for about 90 minutes and the sound suddenly dropped...video still played. I also couldn't adjust any of the sound settings...bass, treble, mid, balance, & fade. I tried turning off the dvd & radio for a few minutes, still nothing. After a 30-40 minute pit stop with the truck off, everything was back to normal. I did notice early on that the volume was turned up extremely far to compensate for road noise and low audio levels on that particular dvd. My only thought was thermal protection on the amp, which I don’t even know the location of. I apologize for asking where it is before searching myself, but I assure you if I had the time and no wife and child, I would have looked first. Plus my wife drives the 470 on a regular basis so it is had to get it away from her for any extended period of time. Could someone tell me where the amp is located, and has anyone else had this problem before? Thanks in advance.
The problem must be something else. It happened again yesterday and I wasn’t playing a DVD. In fact the radio was turned all the way down and I had only been driving for a few minutes. When I went to "SOUND" settings under "AUDIO", everything was grayed out and the "mid" slider was completely gone. I turned the truck off for about 30 minutes and it worked fine again. What the hell is going on?
