hey just want a confirmation that this is most likely my sub that's gone, when I turn only the base up my sub dosen't pop or flap but it cuts out like its trying to play and can't, when I disconnected it to see, all the other speakers worked fine.
do you really think so? was hoping that this wasn't the answer, do you think it could be repaired or does it just need to be replaced, last I checked it was like 200 for a new one.
I'm sure you could find one for about $100. It would cost almost just as much to get it fixed. Can't really upgrade to anything else too unless you want to upgrade the whole system...big pain sometimes.
100? where? the best I found was 200 and I'm on a 2500+ spending binge on my GS, If you know somewhere or if anyone else dose let me know, pm me or something, cause I just dsconnected it and have been going without, but without the sub sounds better than I though it would. I unhooked it so I could take it to best buy or something and have it tested but I've been busy.
ur sub is probably blown, if you have a speaker that is grounding out/bad/burnt or offset coil that causes irregularity in the signal that gets sent to and from the amp the amp may cut off and go into whats called protection mode. is it a pioneer or nak system, you can get a stock replacement from gazi/ebay or dealer. another option is to elemental designs they offer solutiuons for "free air" sub upgrade
