Need info on stock GS300 amp
I'd like to improve the sound of a 1995 GS300 by replacing the stock speakers but keeping the head unit and amp. I need to know what I am dealing with at the amp end. The tweeters are 2 ohms. From what I gather, this means that its a Pioneer system (though I don't see any brand name anywhere).
I don't see any passive crossovers either. Is this 3-channel active? Does anyone know what the crossover frequencies are? Slopes? I guess it would be hoping too much for them to be adjustable, eh?
TIA.

Stevie,
More than likely it IS a Pioneer system. The only "active" crossovers are for the subwoofer and midwoofer/midrange. The crossover for the tweeter is basically a small capacitor. Not active at all...just a very simple passive xover. They're NON adjustable. Slopes are probably 12db/oct for all, except for the tweeter which is 6db/oct. Hope this info helps.
