pollyfil?
I have to replace my sub and have the box open.
What is pollyfil? or more importantly what can i substitute in there?
Right now the inside of the enclosure is bare.
I don't thin I want anything loose in there
because the box has a radiator type design.
I'm thinking gust stick some dynomat type stuff to the inside walls?

Polyfill is basically the stuff inside your pillows, stuffed animals, etc. You can buy it loose from fabric stores or maybe in the fabric section at SprawlMart but if you wanna go cheap just rip open an old pillow.
I guess I'll try it.
Worst case senario I can always pull it out.
Sound like the formula is 1/2lbs per 1 cubic foot. loose

Acousta-Stuf is a synthetic material made from crimped fibers. It is an excellent choice for filling small enclosures or transmission line cabinets. Long fiber wool has been a favorite among serious speaker builders but Acousta-stuf is less expensive than long fiber wool and does not have the problem of harboring moths. Acousta Stuf™ will also outperform Dacron, foam, and fiberglass. Acousta-Stuf is a sound absorption, dampening fiber that will deepen bass, provide cleaner midrange and improve the dynamic extension of any speaker system. There are no health hazards with Acousta-Stuf and no mask or gloves are needed when using this product. Most sealed and vented enclosures require 1/2 lb. of dampening material per cubic foot of enclosure. For best results it is recommended to loosely fill the material throughout the enclosure.

polyfil is used inside sub boxes to make them "seem" larger in volume. the polyfil will slow down the speed of air and since the air is moving back to the sub slower it seems that the enclosure is larger. you ratio for polyfil per ft is about right. good luck.
