Its a nice alarm. Ungo, Sidewinder, Avital and Clifford all have the same unit as well with a different part number. I think the Ungo and Avital units have nicer remotes but they are all the same so find the one you like at the best deal. Check out the Code Alarm and Compustar units while your looking. They have nice two way units with great features and a little better shock sensor.

I notice from the plugs that it doesn't have all black wiring ?
The top alarms over here in Aus all use total black wiring to make it more difficult to tamper with .
Some of the insurance companies insist on it .

Ungo when they were clarion and Code Alarm were the only ones to do that. They ditched it a long time ago after having too many problems with installers. Its I great idea but a well prepped unit will not have exposed wires in plain view even with panels pulled.

I don't know about your area, but a friend was going to have his alarm installed at the compustar company overe here in northern california. they wanted around 600, but they were going to bypass the factory alarm, to have the compustar alarm work like stock, instead of some of the mumbo jumbo installs i have seen where the company leaves the factory alarm hooked up to the car.

The factory alarm is always left alone and functional. The aftermarket units are intergrated to work with the factory unit. That is the proper way to do it.

I have the clifford matrix 50.5x pager alarm with the remote start and it has a mile range. It is great! Highly recommend getting the pager alarm. If someone messes with your car it pages you so you might actually catch the guy in the act.

Can you install that on the push button vehicles without comprimising the inetgrity of the electrical, software or the original setup? At least according to most dealers, it can't be done. If so, please explain how you would accomplish it (use of overide, bypass etc.)
