my 2cents.

:FM Adapter:
I tried the 99dollar Monster FM transmitter. That thing didn't even make it home, I opened package at the parking lot after I got it from the Apple Store, tried it out, and went straight back to return it.

:tape adapter:
who wants a wire sticking out of your Lexus? Not to mention it clicks on a 2GS Nakamichi headunit. Tape adapter got demoted to the trunk of my other car.

:PureDrifter's hardwire:
Yes, wiring is confusing. "Datguy" helped me out big time with the wiring but he didn't solder them, he just used connectors. Brillian idea IMO b/c I didn't even think about using connectors. I think it's a great alternative for those who can't solder like myself. I'll take pics sometime b/c I have to clean up the wires anyways. Total cost including parts was a little over 40dollars. I may add a dock connector so I get level out and so it charges (probably another 20bucks via eBay). Sound quality is fantastic compared to the two above (I compress using EAC+LAME@192kbs VBR). I didn't use top of the line wires and didn't solder so this probably has a huge effect, but I can kind of (and just barely enough to to think to yourself "am I hearing something?") hear the CD music still playing if you turn the engine off and stop the iPod. But once you play music through your iPod, it sounds as good as CD.

Oh yeah, and DO NOT use those fancy light up switches. I used it initially b/c I had an extra one around but I kept on blowing fuses. Just get the radioshack one PureDrifter suggested.

Question

Here is what im working with..I have a 94 GS300 with the factory Pioneer system. The amplifier and 12-disc changer are located in the trunk and the amplifier has 3 plugs coming out of it.
1-orange/which goes out to the speakers in the car.
1-blue /which offers remote turn, power, ect(it has about 5 wires)
1-Gray /Im not 100% what these wires do but there is about 15 or 16 wires total.
What plug do I tap into for an aux input?Let me know if you need specific colors.
Heres a pic of the amp plugs..

I appreciate your help..I did some more research and I think I found the proper wiring..After looking at the wiring diagram it appears that I can tap into the back of the radio or the changer itself..

CDR+ A1 Black
CDL+A2 Red
CDR-A5 White
CDL-A6 Green

PD can please confirm if I got the right wires??If I did find the right wires which do you recommend? From the radio or the changer?

Oh, and the 3.5mm miniplug is an additional preamp output
is that the cheapest dock connector to RCA w/ power cord there is? I spent like 25bucks for the rest of the stuff and I would hate to spend another 25 for the cord.

Thanks for the response. The wiring diagram that I found shows the wires run from the radio to the changer and not the amp..Im asking if it matters or if I can tap into the radio instead of the changer??
