Retro,

Have you listened to the new Brax amps? Completely overkill on design. Specs look fantastic also. Their main page is in German and the only link I could find leading to them is at http://www.theautophile.com

Heard from a guy in Japan on the testing of Brax amps. Extremely impressive. Lower distortion than Mc (incredible!) on THD but the Total Intermodulation Distortion is a bit higher. Signal to noise is comparable but the internals of the Brax are top notch. Op amps are quite good, but I'm not sure about the storage caps.

There aren't any Ken C. Pohlman reviews on the piece but if there was, I'd be looking at Brax very closely.

For an amp, stock "out of the box", the Brax would more than likely edge out the Mc in terms of sound quality. (Different internals, better quality parts) Now a modded one... Definitely will do some research on Brax.

I ahev heard all the amazing things about these amps from many IASCA guys whos oppinion actually matters. That would be cool if you found out something interesting about them since you are one of the guys whos oppinion I value.

I have never heard one but Its my dream amp. Problem is the cost on those things. I mean 1.5 grand for an amp is too much for me. However if I had all the cash to spend on the amps I would definetely pick Brax/Helix over ARC. I would stick with the Rainbow brand but with the Refference line

Retro,

I just spoke with Peter Lufrano and he says there is a Car Stereo Review coming out in December on one of these amps. Keep an eye out for it!
