if it is that then there is really no way to completely stop the rattle. i have a re xxx similar to the w7 and it rattles alot in my 99gs400. you can deaden and try to do whatever to reduce it but it still will. one way to do it though is cut the rear deck where the stock sub was and have the subs facing upwards towards the cabin instead of the trunk.i highly doubt you will wanna do that though

well i'm not the one doing anything... i bring it to a shop i trust. anyways, they're gonna dynamat the entire trunk on tuesday, and i mean every inch they can get to. a few others with 2IS and aftermarket systems said taking out the stock sub actually helped with the rattle. i'm hoping the dynamatting does the trick... gotta wait till tuesday night to find out.

well just an update...

i got the entire trunk dynamatted yesterday, and it sounds a lot better. there is still slight rattling coming from the rear deck area. probably the plastic. i'm going to get that rear area dynamatted too to see if it does the trick but i'm satisfied with the job so far. i know i cant get rid of it entirely...

you can use a sticky material to try to keep the plastic pieces from rattling so much. I'm not sure what it is really called, we just call it "dum dum"

you might be able to. i mean you could peel the tar off, but that is a pain and a half.

or you could try putting small pieces of dynamat on the plastic pieces
