Default Installing amp to what output?

I'm trying to find out a way to hook up my amp for my sub. Which wires should I run it through? I own an is350. Do I run it straight from the factory sub or the output on the factory amp? I have done was splice a set of rca wires and put it on the factory amp output but even when turning my volume to 0 you can still hear the sub. Or how about the factory sub? Do I have to get some kind of converter?

you need a line level converter from the original oem sub wires. then run your rca's from there to your new amp. make sure you have the correct wires neg and poss connected correctly to the converter.
the search funtion will help you out too. good luck

Ok, so I have done some searching and have not found a conclusive answer to this little simple detail. The Line Level Converters have 4 speaker wire inputs and our factory subwoofers have 2 wires. which do you hook up? or how?

you loop it so the first sets you put in goes into the second set. just adjust everything on your input converter an amp. you are just using the input converter for a signal. you can just hook up one side and get a Y RCA cable that splits the signal into two. i did both on my 1995 LS400 and works fine. line input converter were ment for left and right. but since the stock only has 2 wires just loop it you will be good.

i am not sure i follow. I will be using a mono amp (Kenwood KAC-X10D). So does this look right? I do not understand what you mean by loop it.

With the speaker wires combined like that do i just use a normal RCA cable and not the Y splitter I drew? If i do use the Y splitter what do I hook the other RCA plug (Red in Drawing) to?

I am still a little lost on this one.

the first drawing you would use the y splitter.
the second drawing i made you would use regular rca.

sorry for the confusion

No problem, Thanks for the help. So combining the Left and Right "+"'s and the Left and Right "-"'s and then hooking them up to the factory Subwoofer wires will enable me to use a standard RCA.

Thanks for helping me get that clear in my head and in my drawing.

One more question:

Is there a SIGNIFICANT difference between a LLC and a LOC?
(Line Level Converter & Line Output Converter)
