I got the dash kit through my work, we are a stereo/electronics store. It's labeled by "Best Kits" but on the kit itself it's "American International". The kit comes black, but I went to a local paint supply store and bought a rattle can of dye that they matched to the ash tray, and dyed the dash kit. Well it didn't match good enough, so I took the heater/ac controls apart and dyed the face plate of that, and also the ash tray below. For me it was very simple to do it all, but then again I do stuff like this every day. It might be a little harder for those who don't work on interiors on a regular basis.

Treimche... that looks AMAZING. I wish that I lived around you so I could take my car to wherever it is that you work!!!!!! :-)
Did you use something like this for your mounting bracket? http://www.installer-data.com/item/d...php?it=99-8154 I'm asking because I'm wondering whether this model number, 99-8153 for my LS400, will accomodate a double-din display such as yours http://www.installer-data.com/item/d...php?it=99-8153
Thanks in advance for you input, Treimche... and once again WOW for how good your setup looks!!!

I have the same head unit and I only wish mine looked as clean as yours, my install was clean, but the trim doesnt fit and there is another 1/2" piece of ABS plastic, so congrats on the cleanliness of it

Thanks, it sucks that someone doesn't make a nice double DIN dash kit for the SC (yours is an SC correct?).

yea, its an SC and nothing fits in there quite correctly, i mean even the trim ring would've cleaned up the look a lot and that wouldnt fit in there, eventually I am sure I will get something custom done, but in the mean time I have almost no money for that due to other plans for the car, but eventually hopefully I will get there

That kit does look good - but keep in mind that there is a Toyota factory double-din kit that actually DOES match perfectly, and it has factory METAL side brackets. Available from Carson.
So good job Treimche. Now you can easily add Sirius, Sirius Traffic, and the forthcoming Sirius Weather to your Alpine!!!
