Default Sweet NEW PIONEER GEAR!! Any opinions?

I've been doing a little reasearch and found a dope new audio/video setup....

Pioneer has a new DVD/CD Motorized In-Dash Monitor available called the AVX-P7300DVD. From what I've read it seems that this unit is NOT a tuner, but only a monitor/dvd setup.

Howerver, as far as I can tell, if you buy one their available Audio/Video Master Units (AVM-P8000R or AVM-P9000R) you get tuner capabilities w/ a whole list of other goodies!! They both include the new GUI (graphic user interface) that Pioneer uses with KILLER 3-D Graphics!! The P9000R even give you's built in Dolby Digital and DTZ Decoders!!

Crutchfield is having a deal right now on a setup. It includes the AVX-P7300DVD (head unit) and the AVM-P8000R (lower model audio/video master unit) and a wireless steering wheel monted remote control for only....... $2299.95!

www.crutchfield.com

If you read carefully, you will notice that Crutchfield states the AVM-P8000R makes it possible for TOUCH SCREEN NAVIGATION!! COOL!!

Does the AVM-P9000R offer that function??

I haven't gotten the opportunity to hand test this new machine so I still am a little curious of it's capabilities!!

I have been in contact w/ the Alpine unit, the Kenwood unit (they have a new one out too) and the Eclipse Unit. So I know what I'm gettting with those...

If anyone has played with one of these let me know... Or if you have one and want to give me your impressions that would be great!! I'm thinking of purchasing one soon!!

To Check out the NEW KENWOOD 6.5" DVD MONITOR go to:

THANX EVERYONE!!

Get the combo at www.etronics.com.

for the 7300DVD + 8000R :- $1599.99
for the 7300DVD + 9000R :- $1899.99

Can't beat that! I am considering a similar setup also, but wanted to see how the Pioneer and Alpone navigation compare before I make my final decision.

Thanx for the info!! You'll save me a lot of money if I decide to go with the Pioneer stuff!!

Are these products refunished or something?? Cuz that's a killer price!!

Do you know if the AVM-P9000R offers touch screen navagation through it's features?? I read in crutchfield that the 8000R does... So, I'm sure the 9000R has it too right??

Thanks again!!

When I bought the L7 they had a custom made box setup for it.... It's a VERY SMALL box cuz the L7 requires only 1 cu. ft of space!!

No I haven't gotten it on a DB meter yet... It's pretty loud though!

LexDriver18,

I have bought from etronics before. A Sony camcorder and a memory stick voice recorder. All their products are brand new factory sealed. Fast delivery and excellent customer service. Another benefit is no sales tax to California. Another place where I usually buy my gadgets (esp. Sony) online is www.onecall.com. They are Sony authorized Internet reseller which means none of their stuff is grey market and will be factory serviceable.

I don't think Pioneer (please correct me if I am wrong) offers any touchscreen product at this time. Kenwood has a touchscreen headunit but they don't have any navigation offering yet. The AVM-7000R / 8000R / 9000R are AV concentrator unit. You need either one in order for the 7300DVD to function.

Interested parties check out these links:

http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...e=pioavsys8dvd
http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...e=pioavsys9dvd

PS: I am not affiliated with them.

I think I will choose this setup over the Alpine one simply because the new Pioneer navigation is better then the NVE-852. It offers split screen view (like the newer Lexus factory unit) and birdeye view (like the Infiniti Q45). I am planning on installing it my 2001 4Runner.

Hope this answers your questions.

Yes, the Pioneer stuff is cutting edge mobile audio/video. The design of having a Audio Video Master Unit (AVM-P9000R, AVM-P8000) is versitile because you can select a Pioneer head unit OR a display only. For example if you wanted to keep your Lexus Mark Levinson stereo, you could run your entire system from a 6.5" widescreen display (AVD-W6010) with remote controls. The AVM even has a speaker level input, so your Mark Levinson system could be routed to your new Pioneer setup.

That's just what I'm doing and customizing to interface to the navi display screen too:

AVX-P7300 in-dash 7" motorized display
*would have liked to use the AVX-P7300DVD instead, but the system bus will lock up with XDV-P9. (2 DVD players).
AVM-P9000R Audio/Video Master Unit w/Dolby Digital and DTS
XDV-P9 6-disc DVD player (changer)
CDX-P1270 12-disc CD changer
GEX-P7000TV tuner
CD-VC60 Voice Control Module
CD-SR90 Steering wheel remote control

The Pioneer Mobile Video Gear is the best I have seen so far---in my opinion, it's far better than the Kenwood Touchscreen.

The setup that I have in my car right now is:

Pioneer AVX P7300DVD--7 inch widescreen foldout TV w/DVD
Pioneer CDX PD6--in-dash 6 disc CD changer
Pioneer AVM P8000R--brain
Pioneer GEX P7000TV--tv tuner
2--Pioneer AVD W6000--6.5 inch widesreen LCD's for the headrest

The set up is nice, and I get some great deals on it--some cheaper prices that you guys have been quoting. Once you see "Gone in 60 Sec" on that 7 inch widesreen, you'll know what I mean.

If you guys are interested, I can setup some prices for you guys. Let me know---e-mail me at ap0718@clublexus.com

Hope that helps!!!

I have worked as an installer for 4 years and specialize in lexus and BMWs. Take a look in SC section, I made a custom box for my SC and still have 95% of trunk space. I have pics there. THE PIONEER IS BY FAR THE BEST NAVAGATION/DVD UNIT I HAVE EVER PUT IN. THE KENWOOD WAS MY OLD FAVORITE BUT THE PIONEER WITH ITS DETACHABLE FACE ROCKS!
