Okay, I've searched the forums and I haven't found my answer (forgive me i didn't search enough).
Anyways i just got my 1997 lexus sc300 and was wondering if its possible to swap out the 12 disc skipping crappy cd changer with a aftermarket cd changer?

 

in a short answer, no you can't change that changer for a differnt one. however, you CAN get an RF modulated one, but why would you want to do that. Just get yourself a cd player in dash and put a pocket up from and have a 1/2 din piece made.

 

if i change it to a double din cd player, will it effect the sound quality of the stock system?

 

most people will tell you that you will lose your sub..... so with that being said it sounds like crap without a sub. you can jimmy rig it so that you can get the sub to work, but at that time you should jsut buy and aftermarket sub with amp.

 

i read somewhere a lexus es changer worked in a sc400. Do you know if a 1999 lexus gs 300 - 6 disc changer will work in my lexus sc? swapable?
