Gen 5 Nav doing funny things at highway exits?
Been driving my 06 GS300 for about two weeks now, and have noticed a funny issue. I took a drive from Manchester NH to Waltham MA, and there are two places where the Nav gave me the same boneheaded advice.
At Exit 11 going south, the highway ramp parallels the highway and then rejoins it---with a tollbooth along the way---and the Nav was telling me to get on the ramp and then stay left to get back on Rt 3. WTF?
Same thing at the new Rt 3/495 interchange: when going south, the ramp parallels the highway and you can rejoin Rt 3 if you stay left. And once again, the Nav system wanted me to get on the ramp, and then stay left to get back on the highway.
Fortunately I know the roads around here, so no big deal. But it has me worried about what it will tell me to do in not-so-familiar areas.
My 02 ES300 didn't do this to me, and it's something of a bummer that the Nav in the 06 GS loses a few IQ points over the older system. Is there some setting I'm missing that's causing this? I haven't put any "avoids" into the system, FWIW.
