Default gs 400 remote wiring question

Any one know if a line level trigger is need for a remote to turn on a (gs) aftermaket amp or is their a stock wire that one can tap into to activate the amp if so what color wire is this. By the way i own a 99 gs 400 pioneer stock head unit, and want to upgrade to another aftermaket radio. I download Bananas wire diagram but dont know which wire to tap to power the amps. Thank you

Break out your trusty test light. You can usually find a switched wire in the steering column (around the ignition switch). After finding a potential switch power wire, turn on your key (radio on). Then turn it off, if the light turns off, then it will work, if not, look else were.

Be sure to solder and fuse the wire.

Hope this helps

There is a 12V remote turn-on coming out of the head unit, and also at the input connector of the stock amp. You can tap into this in either place - don't know what color it is, the color should be listed on the schematic.

Thanks Yall. Did you guys completly disconnected the stock amp when running the aftermarket amp or did you leave it on. I would like to completly by pass the amp to prevent any ground noise loop. i currently tapped the speaker wires at the stock amp. My question is if i completly disconnect the stock amp will I still get a speaker feed. I hope you understand what I am saying.
Also can anyone pin point the stock remote feed from the radio on the wire diagram from banana's web site I don't know how to make a link here. I don't want to tap a wire that is too
hot ( 12V). Thanks all for the help.

I removed my factory amp when i installed my system a month after i bought my car (new).
You could leave the factory wires in tact and run speaker wires to each speaker (like me).
Sorry I don't know exactly what color wire to look for.
