Does anyone have pics of the back of an aftermarket stereo w/ pre-amp outputs? Thanks.

what do you need the picture for? is there a specific brand that you are interested in? I might be able to snap a pic of mine, just kinda curious cause outputs are pretty generic.

Just want to see what wires are coming out the back of an aftermarket stereo for wiring purposes. Preferably Kenwood. Thanks.

it depends on the specific deck some times. I had one kenwood that only had one set of RCAs, and they went right into the deck, not extension wires. My eclipse has 3 sets of RCAs: Front, Rear, and Non-Fade and they all have a little extra wire to extend them out from the deck. You mentioned for wiring purposes, can you elaborate a little? it might help

So if I buy a harness to go from my original car wiring to my aftermarket deck and connect the "front" RCA to an amp, will the "front" speakers be amplified?

are you keeping the original amp? or are you going to an aftermarket one? If you are going to say an aftermarket 4 channel amp and only have 1 set of RCAs on your deck you can get a set of RCA splitters that will allow more inputs from the amp. it has it's drawbacks, but at least you can get all of the speakers amplified...and you'll either have to run speaker wire to each speaker, which is what i did on my SC3, or run speaker wire from the amp to the deck and connect to the factory wires there.

So even with using the harness, I still have to hook each speaker(4) up to the amp? The Kenwood that I'm purchasing has 3 pre-amp outputs..........and I'm purchasing a 4 channel amp. How would I go about this install the simplest way? I was thinking that if I connected the speakers with a harness and then connect the RCA's on the HU to the amp......those interior speakers(front/back) would be amplified......will they? Thanks for all your help!

k, the Kenwood should have the front and rear RCAs labeled and then the third set is if you want to run a sub later on, which is nice and pretty much a standard now.

The easiest way to do it would be to run all of the speaker wire up to your deck and connect up with the correct wires there for each speaker. You're also going to need to run both sets of RCAs up to the deck no matter what from the amp. This is an alright way to do it, but it has some slight drawbacks in sound quality unless you get some good speakerwire. I have both of my amps in my trunk and have run the wires from the amp directly to each speaker, this was more time consuming but it's what I wanted to do. On your 4 channel amp there should be two sections, one for front and one for rear. Make sure that you keep your wires labeled just incase you happen to mix them up while running them to where ever you plan on running them. Match up the wires to the correct places on your amp and plug your RCAs in there, make sure you keep track of which is front and which is rear...just helps save time and frustration. Other than that, might want to get someone knowledgable to tune the amp for the speakers that you are running. I can do the work, but my good buddy at the audio shop i go to has a great ear for sound quality so he tunes up my stuff for me hope this helps

the speakers are connected to the amp, and then the amp sends the signal to the headunit through the RCAs. I'm not quite following on what kind of harness you're referring to with connecting the speakers to a harness.
