Here's the best choice in an LLC I've seen:
http://www.mobileaudiocontrol.com/pr...49&l2=&l1=5249
It is active (so requires 12V power connection), has signal sensing inputs and 12V trigger output for amp remotes. Excellent AudioControl quality.

That's a great great unit! Has a SHARC 24-bit processor, which is excellent. I'm sure it's not cheap though, must be AT LEAST a couple hundred bucks? I'd guess $300.

Looks like I'm right on about the price - Retail is expected to be 400, so street price should be about 300.....It's great to finally have something like this available though, it will probably cure a lot of woes. I'm just not sure why you'd sink hundreds into buying one of these as opposed to replacing your factory headunit with aftermarket (but then again, I'M still using my factory Nak headunit

CleanSweep Stereo Enhancer
Most new cars use aftermarket-unfriendly stereos permanently grafted into the dashboard, making upgrades nearly impossible. And there's no point in throwing an amp and high-end speakers into a car if the sound source is mediocre.
JL Audio has come up with a little black box it calls CleanSweep to solve this dilemma. About the size of a paperback book, CleanSweep converts the factory stereo's analog signal into 24-bit digital audio. Then the signal is cleaned up in a processor and calibrated to match the car's sound system. The result is a dramatically improved sound that can be routed to aftermarket amplifiers and speakers. CleanSweep will be available in May and should retail for about $400.

Mixed reviews on soundstream. They've been around a lot of years, but have had production probs here and there. Most of us would choose other stuff over soundstream for various reasons. But you have an aesthetic issue with the woofs you're looking at (blue spiders), so...
