Default Lexus iPod Adapter Released

Anybody got $610 burning a hole in their pocket ?

> Vais Technlogy has introduced a new iPod adapter for Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The AVIC-100i allows you to connect a 3G/4G iPod or iPod mini directly to a Toyota/Lexus OEM audio system, providing the ability to listen and control your iPod through the vehicle's head unit and audio steering wheel controls. Playlist, Song Title, Artist Name and Album name information can also be displayed. By connecting the AVIC-100i direclty to the Audio/Navigation system, you can keep all factory-installed components such as 6-disc CD changer or CD/DVD changer. The adapter, which works with 1998-2005 models with Navigation systems, is available for $609.99.

For $15.00 you can get an adapter to play your MP3 player through the cassett player.

The cassette adapter is not bad, but it's not going to be as clean. Depends how good a sound quality you want.

The $600 + price is not reasonable at all. Monster Cable, Belkin and ohers all sell theirs for much less.

Just have to wait for the price to come down or for Monster to offer their product for Lexus.

The cassette adapter may look kind of tacky but it does the job. You don't get high fidelity sound like you would on a CD player but it does sound very decent.

This might be somewhat offtopic, but I received the Motor Trend audio version where they have ipod hookups for Pioneer, Alpine, and someother brand for about $100-$200. Not related to ipod hook up for the stock lexus system.

Actually, the version "just" for the Ipod hookup is $370...the $600 version is for audio/video aux input AND ipod or XM Satellite radio option.

That is too expensive, I wouldn't mind paying for XM that works like that though you can always burn those MP3's to Cd's
