Before mounting the XM tuner, I connected all of the wiring to the tuner then bolted it forward of the amp. The trunk is predrilled for this part and was obvius of it's mounting location.
After mounting the tuner, I remounted the amp and connected the wiring to the amp. The wiring was obvious to me since the wiring only connected to their appropriate areas..

After replacing all of the trunk trim panels and wiring, I called XM and started my subscription. Here's the end result.

Here's the back of the amp. The upper 2 (on the right) connections aren't used. Does anyone know what this is for?

Question Would it work on a non-nav unit?

At my local dealer, one fellow in the parts department said the part number, 86100-0W100, was for the LS430 (obviously it will work in an ES330). I asked if it required the nav unit and another parts man replied no (at least for the LS430).

Any feeling for whether or not this kit could be used on other than a nav unit? I have a 2004 ES330 with the 6 cd changer, non-ML, non-nav.

Thanks

According to the Toyota Information System, the XM unit I installed will work on any ES330 system. The only difference in the installation is that the "Y" cable doesn't need to run back to the trunk to the amp.

The XM kit will NOT work with a non-nav ES330 or a non-nav LS430.

Can this info be used to figure out how to run an ipod into the input that is used for the XM radio? I have a 2005 ES330 wiht ML and Nav.

Edited to add:
Oops, I see that this info is clipped into the other thread I started to ask about this..
Thanks,
Mike

This kit will work on ML or nonML NAV units.

Mike,
As far as figuring out if this info would work on an IPOD install, check out this link to the Sienna Club. There are a lot folks on that site that hace done some neat things to their NAV units. The Lexus Nav unit is the same as the Solara's. http://www.siennaclub.org/forum/index.php?showforum=8

Do you know if this would work on the 05 RX or GX that will have the new Nav system? I don't see XM offered on the O5 RX...
Thanks!

I had my XM installed on my 04 ES330 by the dealer - but I had them put the antenna inside the rear window all the way back and right. It's been over a month, and with all the driving I've had just as good antenna performance as I had with the XM antenna mounted on the roof of my previous ES300. I only drop inside tunnels and such.
