I recently just installed a stereo system into my car. I keep the cd player that was already in the car. After installing the speakers and amp the cd -player would not come on. Could someone please help me. some say I blew a fuse but, i checked all fuses so do any one have a suggestion or help.

I'm going to move your post to the 1st gen GS forum and then back to the Audio forum with a redirect to see if anyone can help.

You might want to give a little more detail about the units you installed and your existing CD player. I assume you mean you kept the factory head unit and added speakers and an amp, right?

Not sure if your year has a factory amp, but I'm guessing it does. What did you do with that?

 

Like Dave said, we need more info. because if you used an aftermarket headunit the cd-player will NOT turn on or work because the plug in the back of the headunit needs to be plugged in and the only headunit that it works with is the factory one.

If its still the factory headunit, there might have been a connection between the amp and the cd player(because they were attached to each other, amp right below the cd player) to check, just put the amp in the trunk and plug in the 2 plugs and see if the cd player will turn on then.

 

I already had a Pioneer Cd Player in the car. After we installed a set of 12s and an amp the cd player would not turn on anymore. The only wire we hooked up to the cd player is the little blue wire runnig from the amp on the speakers. Also my headrest monitors would not come on anymore and they aren't connected to the music thats why i was so confused as for why the cd player would not come on anymore.


Any suggestions.
