I have a 1999 GS400. My front speakers suddenly stopped working. When the passenger side door is opened and closed, the front speakers with cut in/out and then start screeching very loudly. It seems to come from the small speaker on the passenger door (small tweeter speaker near the window). The screeching will continue until I shut off the stereo. When I turn the stero back on, only the rear speakers work. Has this happened to anyone?

Someone told me the GS400 comes with several amplifiers (one for each speaker). The amp for the front speakers is probably blown and the only way to fix one amp is replace them all. They recommended going with one big aftermarket amp to run all the speakers and yank the stock amps out. They said it would costs a lot to replace all the stock Lexus amps. Do this sound accurate to anyone?

not sure if you have nakamichi or stock pioneer? i thought the pioneer only comes with one amp?

 

I have the nakamichi system. Not sure whats up..

 

the Nak system comes with one amp too. if you're looking to replace any part of your system i have the entire Nak system up for sale/trade...head unit, all speakers, sub, amp, CD changer, etc.
