people say JL AUDIO is the best with the slash series

well it depends on what your looking for acutally....high SLP or SQ or MIXES...

High SLP I choose DD Digital Design Freaking COMP SUBS MAD SLP out of that

SQ JLW7 is awesome and also ID max Image Dynamics is really good too...

amp I got nothign but Earthquake PHD2 aka Shredder The best sub...I may say...but its up to you

RE XXX, Adire Brahama, JLw7, Eclipse Titanium (never heard it, but hear great things), ED 12A, a good SQ sub is Boston Acoustics Pro Series but it is not a good spl sub, the new MTX Thunder9500 is supose to kick some ass aswell.

i just noticed your price limit, 4k can get you some good stuff if you buy from the right places online for discounts. you need a new head unit? theres endless possibilites and everyone will tell you differently on how to spend your money. sounstream makes killer Amps, boston acoustics makes the best sq speakers i have ever heard, RE XXX is one of the best subs i have ever heard. you need a cap if you want a super sub like the RE XXX or a 13w7. you will drain your money before you even know it, are you installing it your self?

Go with the IDmax.... those things ROCK!!! but sadly IMO they aren't much too look at.
