Default DVD on NAV screen

Ebay has some DVD players with VGA output, I'm sure this would be a cheaper alternative by skipping over the component to RGB converter.

If anyone can back me up on this feel free to throw in some comments..

This won't work it's component video Y, Pb, Pr. The navigation uses R,G,B + composite sync. Only way to get component to RGB is to use Audio Authority converter.

this is a standard 120v unit..

looks like it would work to me, but youre gonna have to get a power inverter to plug in that DVD unit since its not 12volt. still need the relay to switch between navi and dvd though.

Youre going to need one of these :4PDT relay with 12VDC coil, about $10.

Kabrera,

The type of signals the navigation screen needs are analog R,G,B and composite sync. I know a VGA will plug will not output a composite sync. signal and I think the R,G,B are digital (TTL) signaling.

Radio shack sells a 4PDT relay with 12vdc coil http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...Fid=275%2D214. They also had a socket for this relay with soldier type terminals, not screw terminals.

Nope, This is a socket for double pole - you need a 4 pole socket OR no socket if you are careful with soldiering directly to the relay pins.
