Front camera

Anyone install a front camera on this baby? I don't find that the front sensors are very useful for curbs. I actually would love birds eye view, as I have on my Highlander. At least my Corvette trade in had a front camera.

Would be nice - preferably a bluetooth install, so I wouldn't have to fiddle with wiring and connections.

Front camera

A Lexus Field Tech Specialist made me aware of an aftermarket harness for LC500. Car Tunes in Largo, FL located the harness via a simple internet search and attached a standard front or rear camera. They did the installation for $600 total. The harness allows the camera to integrate with the stock display. When parking just push button on dash and front camera is on for 20 seconds. If you need more time, just push button again. Attached are pictures of camera in grill-(no cutting needed), picture of button and front camera view. Works like a charm-no longer stress parking.
Also note carbon fiber wrap to door sills-looks great.

That looks awesome! Thanks for the info. I will most likely contact them in the coming months once I'm done with my current mods. Several questions though:
1) how long did the install take?
2) will the camera or wiring get affected by a car wash?
3) did they use the blank button in between the trunk release and the HUD?

Thanks again!

Door sills are actual carbon fiber, not a wrap. They are OEM and optioned as part of a package.

See pics for the button.
Install took 1 day.
car wash no effect

These are after market wraps for areas where no factory carbon fiber. Look closely at the pics.

Tell me you're not using a car wash with brushes please. I can't imagine torturing my baby in a car wash with brushes!!

:eek2:

ABSOLUTELY NOT! I personally wash my car once a week. I wouldn't let any of those automated machines near my car, or even have someone else wash it for me....

I don't see any aftermarket wrap either. All I see is the factory carbon door sill that comes standard with the Performance Package - as pictured below. Am I missing something?

The part with the Lexus logo is factory carbon fiber --it is about 1/3 of the foot sill and only the top portion. It ends with the curve. The rest is the after market carbon fiber wrap that my window tint people installed. They did such a great job that the lines line up perfectly and it has a sheen just like the factory piece. The reason I had it installed is that the factory sill plastic was getting scuffed and dealer had no solution for removing the scuffs. Lexus should have installed carbon fiber on the entire sill for a $105,000.00 vehicle.

Lexus DID install sills that are entirely carbon fiber! If what you're saying is true then that would imply that the entire sill piece in the picture I provided above is also partially wrapped. It is not. Unless your tint people wrapped over the factory carbon(?), the sills on every LC with a performance package are all carbon - just as pictured. I have the same vehicle as yours, and my sills are all carbon fiber - just as yours are, and mine are certainly not vinyl wrapped. The same all-carbon sills are also used on the Structural Blue Inspiration series and the 2019 Limited Edition Yellow series. Pics below...

Thanks for informing me. I have an LC with the performance package and only the front top third of the sill is factory carbon fiber. The rest of the sill was a common dull plastic material.
I will get in touch with my dealer and Lexus. Maybe only the Inspiration series has all carbon fiber on the entire sill? If so, maybe I can order them through Lexus. Many thanks.

I've asked my dealer's parts department for pricing on those, in case I needed to replace one of mine - they'll run you about $4,500 each! Not cheap!
