Hi all. Thinking about getting an LC and was wondering if I could get the exhaust flaps to stay open all the time without manually removing the plugs on the exhaust. Is there a fuse that could be removed that will leave it open all the time?

I can absolutely confirm that the LC doesn't offer such a simple solution. I've studied the electrical diagrams and the flaps are controled by two seperate modules running on four circuits. No one fuse controls it all.

If it did, it would trip a check engine light, I've also looked into it.

Does anyone know what it would sound like if the exhaust flap is malfunctioning? My LC 500 (11,000 miles) began to sound like a semi truck with the jake brake on when slowing from 3000 to 2000 RPMs. Lexus is telling me this is normal. It's not.

If the exhaust flap is malfunctioning it would either be open, closed or some intermediate position. The way the exhaust routes to the silencers, all this would do is give you either Sport+ Mode volume/sound (open), Normal Mode volume/sound (closed) or a level somewhere in between less than Sport + Mode.

If it sounds like a Compression (Jake) Brake something else is amiss. - - - definitely NOT normal. Maybe something has come loose??

Thank you for your response. I picked up my car today and it is running perfectly. I don't know what was wrong with it- but it's better now and I'm as happy as can be. It was in for the fuel pump recall. I wonder if that could have accounted for the noise? Anyway, props to Kuni Lexus in Denver. They were wonderful to work with.
