Default Loving my structural blue lc500

Just took delivery last week of my 2018 lc500. Love this car. Have driven corvettes and jaguars before but this is very comfortable and the compliments on the color are unreal. A lot of thumbs up from people when you pass them . Question I had living in NY we have many pot holes. I hit one the other day as they come up on you and you cant see them. Due to the car being so low it bottomed out a bit on the passenger side from and scraped it somewhat. You really cant see it but I know it is there. Due to the unique structural blue color and there touch up paint or any suggestions. Like I say you really cant see it but when I look under the car I notice it

Thanks much will await information

No bra for the structural blue per Lexus. It distorts the color refraction.

I would go get a lifetime ceramic coating on that ASAP. That would at least make it slightly harder to chip.

I feel your pain. Only 1300 miles and my LF tire is now junk, due to a nasty NE pothole. Didn't even see it as it was lurking just beyond the crest of a small hill. #@$&!! Not leaking air, but obviously not safe to drive on it. At least the rim doesn't APPEAR to be damaged...

Tire warranties only cover manufacturer's defects. This is why we have the option to purchase road hazard insurance. Without it, damage recovery from potholes, nails, curbs, etc., are the owner's responsibility.

Comgrats on the purchase! It’s my favorite color on the LC500.

That Structural Blue seems like a nightmare to do any sort of paintwork on. Ceramic coating would be my best guess.

Just brought home my LC500 in Structural Blue!! I love this car. I was torn on colors - until I stopped by the dealership as the sun was going down. It was stunning - and sealed the deal!

I was planning on a clear bra tomorrow - but wondering if Ceramic Coating is the way to go. I have not heard of this option before. Anyone tried this coating with success?

Also curious how many of the Structural Blue have been sold so far?....

A clear bra will protect against chipping, but it will also change the appearance of the awesome color. People may tell you otherwise, but look at some yourself in bright light or sunshine - especially after it's weathered a bit. You can't get the perfect look of a nice clear coat with a clear bra, but for most people it isn't an issue. Just depends on how particular you are. Ceramic coating won't change the appearance at all, and it will help maintain the paint's original luster, but it won't provide any protection against rock chips.
