Safety sense just saved my ass
While we have the luxury of watching a video where we know "something will happen".. it would seem that an alert driver would have noticed the Tesla needing to stop to avoid the car running a red light and you would have had plenty of time to slow your vehicle and avoid impact before the safety system went off. That said, maybe you are the kind of driver who needs safety sense and I am glad it was there for you.
you can see i was already slowing down and i kept a big gap throughout. The LSS only intervened when it detected i was braking hard enough right near the end when it just locked my brakes for me (i figure the tesla was going to keep going and not come to a complete brake stand after missing that sentra... the guy was in the middle of the intersection).

In my first week of ownership, and less than 50 miles, while on a thoroughfare going 45-50mph, the cars in front of me came to a sudden stop at a location that they shouldn’t (no red lights within a mile). I was a few car lengths behind the next car but immediately knew I wouldn’t stop in time. I pressed the brake but I guess the car took over and I stopped well short of the car in front of me. Quite impressive.
