I feel that I really should not be double guessing myself with this one, but thought I would reach out for feedback, in case there is something I am missing.
I decided to check my oil level, after driving a few hundred miles since my last oil change. My car had been sitting for 24 hours when I took this attached picture.
Am I correct to feel that there has been too much oil added when the oil was replaced? I feel that there should be no reason as to why the level should be excessively high. I have contacted the dealership to note my concern and will take it back this Saturday to have them assess it with their own eyes. In addition, the factory fill was never at a level this high before the oil change. The dipstick is being held horizontally in this pic, not vertically.

Looks like too much was added to me. You sure you want to go back to that dealer? They screwed up you'll be giving them another opportunity to screw up.

I am not sure I want to go back, but outside of this dealership, my options are few. I want to work with them but am feeling apprehensive for sure
did you check when it's warm? i thought youre only suppose to check after the engine is warmed up 15 minutes or so.
Yes, I checked the level as well after a drive. I waited at least 5 minutes after shutting off the engine, (as the manual advises), before checking the level. It was essentially the same as it had been sitting for 24 hours.
When the vehicle was brand new and up until its initial oil change the level was never higher than the full mark on the dipstick, at any point. This was whether the car was sitting for a period or warm.

You should probably have the excess oil removed sooner than later as an overfilled CC could cause some issues.
I took it to the Island dealership where I ordered and purchased the car. They are the only Lexus dealership here in town, the only other location is about 200km up island from where I live.
My confidence has definitely been shaken after this. I want to have a good relationship with them but I keep getting questionable advice in my opinion.
Initially they told me run the car until warm, turn it off for one minute and check the level. I told them the manual says to wait at least five minutes.I also asked them did they have a way of extracting the excess oil, and I was told that they will crack open the drain plug and allow some of the oil to flow out, seal it and remeasure the level. I asked what were the implications of driving with an overfilled crankcase? Is it hard on the gaskets or seals? Will there be excessive foaming? Further, I expressed that I have not been driving the car since I discovered the overfill as I am concerned.
The response was that the quality of the oil used would keep foaming to a minimum and that I should not be worried about driving with approximately one extra litre of oil inside of the engine, this would not be a problem. I am not sure if he was serious or just trying to downplay my concern.
My invoice for the original oil change they performed says they used 10 litres of oil, where the general maximum capacity per the manual, is 8.6 litres including filter.

I have an appointment for this coming Saturday morning to rectify the issue. I am thinking that at this point I will just dump all of the conventional oil. Change the filter again and refill with an appropriate volume of Mobil 1 synthetic.
