Headlights too hot?
LexusLC18 - since you're username has LC18 am i to assume your car is a 2018 but is still under warranty?
If I plan on keeping it I won’t bother fixing it but if I am getting rid of it then I should get it fixed prior.
I started the thread to let other owners know of this defect because it’s not very noticeable
LexusLC18 --- Since you’ve left the option of not repairing on the table, and raise the issue that bulbs may be generating too much heat, what’s the longest period of time you’ve run lites on? I have never run mine more than a hour or two.

Bit --- I can appreciate all that you have on your plate to do with very limited time to do it. Near impossible to stay on top without something falling thru the cracks. Congrats for doing as well as you do!
What might have happened is I live in Miami and it is really hot and when the lights turned on automatically in a dark area the burst of heat with the car baking in the sun caused the plastic to melt.

can’t figure out if just the plastic piece is replaceable.

Get it fixed if it is still under warranty, that shouldn't be like like. Probably not fixable and/or requires removing the whole lens to fix, probably not worth it wouldn't be surprised if they replace both.
It's not major body work, headlights get replaced all the time. Dealer can adjust the lights if they don't beam right.
Might be better to get it done now than having it rejected when warranty is over. it'll only get worse.
Interesting enough prior lexus models also have this issue, and those came with hotter hid I believe the led should be cooler in some way, but still the problem still exists so maybe its a design flaw.
Gotta admit though that is pretty sexy that lexus was able to integrate that pattern into the housing like that.
Good luck!
